for teaching young children language and literacy through a play-based, integrated curriculum.

Utilize the computer and related technology to research and present classroom assignments.
Understand “Developmentally Appropriate Practices” (DAP).
Develop curriculum, lesson plan and thematic units for Early Childhood Education.
Create an organized record of all information related to courses with personal goals included.
Asses the role and responsibilities of teachers in Early Childhood Education.
Demonstrates knowledge of emergent literacy theories and techniques.
Course Outcomes:
Define literacy and emergent literacy; analyze various theories of language development; and
describe the teacher’s role in promoting emergent literacy.
Create literacy environments for children; and select and share appropriate literature with children.
