1. Discuss the major political and economic changes that have led to globalization since
WWII. Include in your discussion, the major political events, structural economic
changes, and the formation of, or demise of major political and economic institutions; be
comprehensive in your answer. (20 points)
2. Discuss the significant challenges of the politics of growth, governance, and defended
space during the era of globalization for local U.S. governments. Include the following
in your discussion: politics, policies, economics, mobility of the educated and affluent,
income inequality, economic vulnerability of cities. (Hint: you may need to review the
text to answer this question).

3. Discuss how industrialization contributed to the segregation of the classes and ethnic
groups during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Include industrial scale,
transportation technologies, and wealth inequality in your discussion. (10 points)
4. Describe the elements in a typical political machine of the early twentieth century. (10

The REFORM MOVEMENT
