chosen country. Answer the following questions based on the lesson and your
research in complete sentences:
● What type of government does the country have? Describe how it structures authority.
Japan has a parliamentary government. A prime minister has the authority to rule over
the citizens from their constitution. Their government has three branches just like United
States, with checks and balances.
● Does the country have features of democratization, meaning are there signs it is moving
closer to or away from democracy? Explain.
Japan is continuing to push towards a democracy, and new laws are being put in place
to be a more ideal democracy.
